Maurie started farming in Kooweerup in 1975. ln the nineties, being disheartened with the amount of chemicals that were being used, he started playing around with ways to grow crops without using chemicals e.g. growing potatoes with half chemical fertiliser and half chook pellets. This seemed to go okay so we tried only chook pellets and this went well. We achieved “ln Conversion to Organic” Accreditation in 1997 and Organic Accreditation three years later. Today we grow over 20 different types of organic vegetables with the main vegetables being asparagus, onions, beans, corn, tomatoes, capsicum, eggplant, broccoli, artichokes, pumpkins and cauliflower.
